How to Relax Before Your Next College Year

All students feel stressed after a year full of studying. Working all day long and doing some extra activities can make students start to drink, overeat or even do drugs in order to overcome the accumulated stress.

1) Physical activity is a key to relaxing

2) Go out of your house

6) Work not only to relax but also to earn some money

Get a part-time job in order to have some free time before you will be studying almost for the whole year. However, if you feel that the job of your interest can make you relaxed, work from morning to evening five days a week. Additionally, there is an option of finding a freelance job, on which you can work even sitting at home.

Apart from taking your mind off your studies, you can earn some cash for the next college year.

There are several descriptions of successful cleft lip operations through the Middle Ages, but the first successful cleft palate operation didn’t happen until 1816. Many doctors believe this is because without anesthetic, this procedure was simply too painful. Since the discovery of chloroform, however, cleft lip surgeries have made impressive progress.

Use computers with care

Inevitably, a lot of your time while preparing for coursework will be spent in front of a computer screen. It’s worth taking steps to reduce any glare on computer screens – remove lights that directly reflect on it, and opt for a non-reflective matte screen if possible. Remind yourself to blink regularly when you work on a computer, and keep your distance – an arm’s length is the advice commonly given. Choose a fitness activity that you enjoy

Between classes, hanging out with friends and essay writing, you may find yourself debating whether the pressure is really worth it. Let us assure you it is! Start over!

College and university should be life experiences you choose to embrace, not ones you want to hide from. Make the effort to try new things and make new friends, even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone. Remember to be yourself and be prepared to work hard. You should avoid spending hours on end finishing that all important essay and start it in plenty of time instead. Sleep is one of the first things students cut down when they feel stressed. As little as 3 nights of incomplete sleep can make you feel tired and drowsy, resulting in a lack of focus. Stay motivated this term and get a sufficient amount of sleep.

That’s a problem because many dorms have terrible IAQ. People light candles, use air fresheners, and smoke pot, all of which reduce air quality. You may have an even worse problem if your dorm has a bug or rat problem. Pests are notoriously bad for IAQ.

You must take steps to improve the air you breathe. Otherwise, you’ll suffer adverse health effects. Anxiety, stress, and depression

You could also consider working out, whether that means joining the gym, walking to lectures rather than catching the bus, or running around your local neighborhood each evening. Finally, get some sleep, and drink plenty of water to keep your concentration at its sharpest. College gives you more freedom than you have ever had the opportunity to have before which is why so many people remember their college days as being the best. Between classes, hanging out with friends and essay writing, you may find yourself debating whether the pressure is really worth it. Let us assure you it is! Start over!

College and university should be life experiences you choose to embrace, not ones you want to hide from. Make the effort to try new things and make new friends, even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone. Remember to be yourself and be prepared to work hard. It’s not going to be a walk through the park, but you’ll survive. Get ahead of your classmates by starting background reading early and keep on top of your homework and coursework – thank us later!

Time matters

College life is very different to school. If you’re lucky, you might be able to choose what you wear to college or be able to leave the premises at lunch time but inside, the same rules apply. Expect to be handed assignments from day one. Ease the pressure and set yourself a timetable and stick to it. Structure it based on how much time you will need for each study you take, taking into consideration the time extracurricular activities will take up.

Join a club

Clubs are the ideal place to make new friends. You might even learn something that will help you later on in life! Not only is joining a club great to put on your CV, you’ll be a part of experiences you may never have had the opportunity to be a part of by helping others.

Maintain a healthy diet

Maintaining a healthy diet at college and university isn’t as challenging as students expect it to be. Avoid splashing cash on expensive take always and make your own meals instead. If you live in shared accommodation, take it in turns to make your own specialities! You won’t always have time to knock up a healthy dish, so prepare your food in advance or make more than you need to refrigerate it for the next day.

Don’t be afraid to speak to your teacher

It’s OK if you feel a little overwhelmed by college or university. If you need additional support when attempting to write your assignment, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Your teacher will be more than happy to assist you and would much rather be aware of your concerns to provide you with extra support where required.

Get enough sleep

We all love sleeping, but sometimes we don’t get enough of it. Getting between 7-8 hours’ sleep a night is vital to ensure you stay physically and mentally fit. You should avoid spending hours on end finishing that all important essay and start it in plenty of time instead. Sleep is one of the first things students cut down when they feel stressed. As little as 3 nights of incomplete sleep can make you feel tired and drowsy, resulting in a lack of focus. Stay motivated this term and get a sufficient amount of sleep.

The start of a new school year means that you’re ready for life in the dorm. You don’t want to suffer through the Freshman 15, however, especially if you’re a junior or senior. You want to live right. Here’s how to stock your dorm room for a healthy year.

Healthy Snacks

You’ll also feel better when you eat right, and you’ll enjoy the benefits of this choice when you feel more energetic while studying. You don’t have a lot of pantry space, though, and your mini-fridge has limited storage, too.

For these reasons, packaged items are great for a dorm room. These foods and snacks have longer shelf lives and often provide a quick energy burst. You just have to buy the right ones. Microwave popcorn and trail mix are great, and a squeeze pack of almond butter is a great source of instant protein.

Bags and packs of whole-grain chips are a fantastic way to deal with the munchies in a healthy way. You should get baked chips, though. Those are better for you. You should also stock a lot of dried fruit pouches. Fresh fruit is great as well, assuming that you’ll remember to eat it quickly. All of these options are superior to the regular junk food that most coeds eat at the dorm.

Cleaning Supplies for a Small Space

Dorm rooms are typically 130 square feet or smaller. Due to the claustrophobic setting, many conventional cleaning supplies aren’t as effective. For example, running a full-sized vacuum is difficult in such tight quarters. You need cleaning supplies and appliances that will work in a small space.

Several companies sell a sweeper-mop combo. It will take care of all your wet and dry floor-cleaning needs. Since it’s a combo appliance, it will only take up half the space of a full mop and broom set, too! You’ll also need a mini-vacuum to clean up all of those inevitable dorm room spills. Keep an ample supply of paper towels and disinfecting wipes on hand as a precautionary measure.

Improve Your IAQ

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is one of the most important elements of healthy living. You’ll spend most of your time indoors at your school, and a lot of it will take place in the dorm. That’s a problem because many dorms have terrible IAQ. People light candles, use air fresheners, and smoke pot, all of which reduce air quality. You may have an even worse problem if your dorm has a bug or rat problem. Pests are notoriously bad for IAQ.

You must take steps to improve the air you breathe. Otherwise, you’ll suffer adverse health effects. One of the easiest things that you can to do to improve IAQ is to keep plants in your room.  They will produce more oxygen while absorbing some of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that damage IAQ. Think of plants as nature’s air filters.
